Abstract

This study intends to examine how the effectiveness of Trans Jogja as a public service in the city of Yogjakarta. The arrangement of the transportation system must be carried out in an integrated manner as a unitary national transportation system in order to be able to realize the availability of transportation services that are balanced with the level of customer demand that is feasible at a low cost so that it can be reached by the whole community, therefore the authors aim to identify what factors are which affects the effectiveness of Trans Jogja as public transportation in accordance with the wishes and needs of passengers and provides recommendations for improvement and development to improve the quality of Trans Jogja services. This study uses a research method where researchers analyze how the effectiveness of Trans Jogja in Yogyakarta is the method used in the study. This is in the form of literature review, policy analysis, and policy recommendations in public services, especially in Trans Jogja transportation. The results of this study Trans Jogja is a public transportation that only operates specifically in the city of Yogyakarta. To support service performance, public transportation must be sustainable in terms of transportation and service convenience. There are more than 200 Trans Jogja bus terminals scattered in various strategic locations in Yogyakarta for easy access. In addition, Trans Jogja receives relatively large subsidies. The subsidy allocation is used to fund the purchase of portable stations, maintenance of bus stations, and CCTV access in each bus unit. This subsidy is also included in the Trans Jogja tariff, which is considered very affordable. By only spending Rp. 3,500, passengers can travel around to enjoy Yogyakarta City.
