LEARNING MEDIA "BUCIL" (Small CUBE) TO IMPROVE MATHEMATICS LEARNING RESULTS VOLUME OF CUBE AND BEAMS

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in Mathematics subjects with the volume of cubes and blocks. The contributing factor is the use of monotonous methods and the absence of learning media used. This results in low student learning outcomes, especially the material for the Volume of Cubes and Blocks. Therefore, to overcome this problem, researchers use the Bucil (Small Cube) media to improve student learning outcomes. This study uses the CAR model from Kemmis and Mc Taggart which consists of 4 stages including: planning stage, action stage. , the observation stage and the reflection stage. However, considering the increasing spread of COVID-19, the research was stopped until the planning stage on the condition that all research instruments must be validated. After the validation process was carried out by 2 validators, the percentage score of each research instrument was obtained. Validation of the lesson plan obtained a percentage score of 86%. In the validation of learning media obtained a percentage score of 84.5%. Validation of group worksheets obtained a percentage of 77.5%. The validation of the written test questions obtained a percentage of 82%. And the validation of the observation guidelines obtained a percentage score of 82%. So from the results of the validation of all research instruments, it can be concluded that all instruments have valid criteria and are suitable for use in the learning process.
