Each submitted paper is independently reviewed by at least two peer reviewers. The decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based on their report/recommendation and is made by the Editor. If two or more reviewers deem a manuscript unsuitable for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis for the decision will be sent to the authors.
Manuscript Revision
Manuscripts returned to authors for revision should be returned to the editor immediately. Revised manuscripts can be sent to the editorial office via the Online Submission Interface. Revised manuscripts returned after three months will be considered as new submissions.
Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Manuscripts are written in Indonesian (see Journal Template Jurnal Edukasi Pengabdian Masyarakat: EDUABDIMAS). Manuscripts in Indonesian will be reviewed by the editorial board. The main text of the manuscript should be submitted as a Word document (.doc)
Manuscripts are neatly typed in one column on A4 size paper, using Cambria 12 pt. The manuscript contains original work and has the potential to contribute to high scientific advancement.
The Manuscript Must Contain the Following Sections in Order:
A. Title
The title should describe the main content of the article, be informative, concise, accurate, unambiguous, specific, not too wordy (maximum 14 words), not contain formulas, and rarely used abbreviations. This is your chance to grab the reader's attention. Remember that the reader is the future author who will cite your article. Identify the main issue of the paper. Start with the subject of the paper. The title should be complete. The title describes the research conducted, Cambria, font size 12 pt, single space, 0 pt after space.
B. Author Name
Full name without title and academic degree, written in capital letters. The manuscript is written with contact details of at least 1 contact of the first author listed.
C. Name of Each Author's Affiliation
The author's name must be accompanied by a complete affiliation address, email, and correspondence email address of at least 1 contact of the first author listed.
D. Abstract
Abstract: Written in Indonesian and English consisting of approximately 200 words, providing a brief description of the research problem, objectives, methods used, results, and conclusions. The abstract should stand alone, which means there are no citations in the abstract. Think of it as an advertisement for your article. The abstract should tell potential readers what you did and highlight key findings. Avoid using technical jargon and uncommon abbreviations. You should be accurate, brief, clear and specific. Use words that reflect precise meanings. The abstract should be precise and honest. Emphasis on research results is written in single spacing with left and right margins 0.5 cm narrower than the main text.
Keywords: Written in Indonesian and English, consisting of a maximum of 5 words or groups of words, written alphabetically. Keywords are the labels of your article and are important for proper indexing and searching. Therefore, keywords should represent the content and the most important parts of your article. Use only abbreviations that are widely known in the field.
E. Introduction
This section can also provide expected results. The introduction should be single-spaced. The introduction consists of: (1) the research problem; (2) insights and problem-solving planning; (3) a summary of theoretical studies and current research results (state of the art), related to the observed problem (gap analysis), and (4) research objectives.
In the Introduction, the Author should state the purpose of the work at the end of the introduction section. Before the objective, the Author should provide adequate background, and a very brief literature survey to note existing solutions/methods, to point out the best previous research, to point out the main limitations of the previous research, to point out what you want to achieve (to overcome the limitations), and to point out the scientific benefits or novelty of the paper. Avoid detailed literature surveys or summaries of results. Do not describe the literature survey as author by author, but it should be presented as a group by method or topic reviewed that draws on multiple literatures.
Examples of novelty statements or gap analysis statements at the end of the Introduction section (after the current state of previous research survey): " ........ (brief summary of background)....... Some researchers focused on ....... There are limited studies relating to ........ Therefore, this study aims to ................. The purpose of this study is ......... ".
According to Rustantono (2024), the introduction is the first part of the manuscript, and should be written using simple present tense. In addition, this section also contains abbreviations and explanations. The main purpose of the introduction is to convey basic information to readers without requiring them to research previous publications and provide clues regarding the results of this study (references should be selected from recent publications with higher impact factors, traceable sources, and prestigious). To do this, the subject of the article should be thoroughly reviewed, and the purpose of the study should be clearly stated immediately after discussing the basic references.
The body article should be written in Cambria, font size 12 pt, 0 pt before the space, and 0 pt after the space.
F. Methods
Methods should make the reader capable of reproducing the experiment. Provide enough details to make the work reproducible. Methods that have been published should be indicated by reference: only relevant modifications should be described. Do not repeat details of existing methods.
Broadly speaking, this section outlines how the research was conducted. The following are the main points that should be listed: (1) research design; (2) population and sample; (3) sample collection techniques and instrument development; (4) data analysis techniques.
Specifications and types of tools and materials should be written if the research has been conducted using them.
Qualitative research such as classroom action research, case studies, and so on, need to mention the presence of the researcher, research subjects, and participating informants, as well as the methods used to extract data, the location of the research, the duration of the research, and a description of the validation of the research results.
It is recommended that authors avoid organizing the article content into sections smaller than the second subheading in this section. However, if there are unavoidable factors, the writing style should follow the “Results and Discussion” section.
G. Results and Discussion
This section is the main part of the research article in which the “improved” results are presented. The data analysis process, such as statistical computation and hypothesis testing, does not need to be presented. The material reported is the results of the analysis and the results of hypothesis testing. In addition, tables and graphs may also be presented to enhance the verbal narrative. Tables and figures should be commented or discussed. Details of qualitative research are written in several sub-topics that are directly related to the focused category.
The discussion of the article aims to: (1) answer the research problems and questions; (2) show the ways of obtaining findings; (3) interpret the findings; (4) relate the findings to the established knowledge structure; (5) generate new theories or modify existing theories.
In the discussion, this is the most important part of your article. Here you have the opportunity to sell your data. Make the discussion appropriate to the results, but do not repeat the results. It should often start with a brief summary of the main scientific findings (not the experimental results).
The following components should be included in the discussion: How do your results relate to the original question or objective outlined in the Introduction (what/how)? Do you provide a scientific interpretation for each result or finding presented (why)? Are your results consistent with what has been reported by other researchers (what else)? Or are there any differences?
The research results should be clearly summarized in answering the research question. The interpretation of research results must be done using existing logic and theory. Research results in the form of facts found in the field are combined with previous research or existing theories. This must be supported by reliable references. If the researcher brings a new theory, the old theory can be confirmed or rejected, or modify the old theory.
In some cases, it is inevitable to structure the article by creating subheadings. So, this is the format for writing a Jurnal PRIMED:Primary Education Journal atau Jurnal Ke-SD An manuscript with subheadings. In this section, there are specific rules that cannot be separated in an article.
H. Conclusion and Suggestions
This part provides the summary of results and discussion which refers to the research aims. Thus, the new principal ideas, which are an essential part of the research findings, are developed.
Conclusions should answer the objectives of the research. Tells how your work advances the field from the present state of knowledge. Without clear Conclusions, reviewers and readers will find it difficult to judge the work, and whether or not it merits publication in the journal. Do not repeat the Abstract, or just list experimental results. Provide a clear scientific justification for your work, and indicate possible applications and extensions. You should also suggest future experiments and/or point out those that are underway.
The suggestions, which are arranged based on research discussed-findings, are also written in this part. These should be based on practical activities, new theoretical development, and/or advanced research.
I. Bibliography
Citing articles written by two authors, both authors must be mentioned, however, for three or more authors, only the first author is mentioned followed by et al., for example Cholifah and Yanti (2023) and Hanifah et al. (2017). A series of references should be presented in interesting alphabetical order (Fatmawati et al., 2011; Hudha et al., 2014; Miharja, 2010). Different publications with the same author and year will be presented separately, as follows 2023a, 2023b. References to unpublished data and personal communications should not appear in the list but should be cited in the text only (for example, Pantiwati 2014, personal communication (personal communication); Susetyarini 2014, unpublished data). In the reference list, references should be listed in alphabetical order. The journal name should be abbreviated.
The bibliography is arranged alphabetically, with at least 80% of publications from the last 10 years, and only contains referenced sources, and is arranged systematically as in the following example.
