Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to conduct online mathematical modeling for high school students. In conventional learning, of course, the teacher has prepared what materials and learning strategies are appropriate and which will be used when teaching in the classroom. However, it is different in the current state of being online. Currently, many are not in line with expectations between planning and implementation. With the implementation of distance learning, new problems have arisen, such as a survey conducted by the ministry of education and the UNICEF agency on 29 May 2020 and continued on 8 June 2020 receiving responses from approximately 4,000 students from 34 provinces spread across Indonesia. In the survey results, it was found that as many as 58% of students were not interesting when carrying out the learning process from home during the Covid 19 pandemic. The survey was also conducted at Yadika 11 High School and from the survey it was found that while studying from home, 38% of students said they lacked motivation from home. Educators, this is the first and foremost issue. Then, 35% of respondents said that access to communication tools was poor, and 62% of respondents admitted that they needed free internet access. It didn't stop there, from 92% of the instruments distributed, there were quite a few difficulties in obtaining learning materials. It must be realized that online learning that is applied causes many difficulties, both for students and educators. The method used is a case study, developing mathematical material, designing the form of the material, developing learning strategies, implementation and evaluation. The results of the PkM conducted by the Mathematics Study Program answered three things that were needed by the school, namely: 1) The form of high school mathematics material that would be implemented online 2) The teaching strategy prepared in the implementation of learning in high school classes online was very good with a response of 90.50%, 3) The form of good and correct assessment in student learning outcomes based on the tests given shows 87% very good, 10% good and 3% quite good. There is an increase in students' understanding after the learning process is complete, this can be seen from student learning outcomes and a student satisfaction survey 89% expressed satisfaction. The conclusion of PkM is that the learning strategy implemented at SMA Jatirangga Bekasi runs smoothly and according to planning
