Efektivitas Edukasi Kesehatan dan Pengendalian Malaria Berbasis Lingkungan di Kampung Ansudu 1 Sarmi

Abstrak

Malaria masih menjadi masalah kesehatan di wilayah endemis, termasuk Kabupaten Sarmi, Papua. Rendahnya pengetahuan masyarakat serta kondisi lingkungan yang mendukung perkembangbiakan vektor menjadi faktor risiko utama penularan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat dan melakukan pengendalian vektor malaria. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan kesehatan dengan pendekatan partisipatif, disertai pretest dan posttest, serta intervensi berupa pembagian kelambu berinsektisida dan penaburan larvasida. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat, dimana kategori pengetahuan tinggi meningkat dari 30,8% menjadi 92,3% dengan perbedaan signifikan (p < 0,001). Intervensi juga mendorong perubahan perilaku masyarakat dalam penggunaan kelambu dan menjaga lingkungan. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi edukasi dan pengendalian vektor efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan menurunkan risiko penularan malaria.
