IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INQUIRY METHOD TO IMPROVE STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN THE MATERIAL OF LISTENING TO SOUNDS

This study aims to examine the application of the inquiry method in improving the learning outcomes of 5.3 grade students at MI Imami Kepanjen in the material of listening to sounds. The inquiry method was chosen because it encourages students to be active in the learning process, explore information through discussions, experiments, and investigations, thereby enhancing their understanding of the material. The research type used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of the study indicate that the application of the inquiry method can increase student engagement in learning, as well as significantly improve students' learning outcomes. Before the inquiry method was implemented, the average student score was 68.38, while after the inquiry method was applied, the average score increased to 85.12. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the inquiry method can improve student learning outcomes in the material of listening to sounds in the 5.3 grade at MI Imami Kepanjen.
