Abstract

This study examines the implementation of a leadership-based curriculum at SMA Al Izzah Kota Batu, a boarding school that integrates Islamic values with modern educational theories. Using a qualitative research methodology, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis to understand the curriculum's design, implementation, and impact. The findings reveal that the curriculum significantly influences students' character and leadership skills. The curriculum is structured around three core components: the National Curriculum, the Ulumuddin Curriculum, and the Leadership Development Curriculum, creating a holistic and integrative educational environment. Key indicators of success include students' independence, discipline, leadership abilities, courage, responsibility, and the internalization of Islamic values. Programs such as the Student Leadership Community (SLC) provide practical leadership training, enabling students to manage areas such as security, worship, language, cleanliness, and teaching. The synergy between academic education, pesantren life, and leadership training fosters students' intellectual growth alongside their spiritual and social competence. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of blending Islamic principles with modern educational practices to develop leaders with strong character and integrity. Recommendations include strengthening curriculum integration, enhancing teacher capacity, innovating leadership training methods, and expanding community engagement programs to ensure sustainability and replicability of the model.
