Abstract

This research is motivated by the difficulties students face in using question words. This situation indicates an urgent need to improve students' learning outcomes by using a problem-based learning (PBL) approach, so that students can better understand and apply the concept of question words. This study employs a classroom action research method based on the model developed by Kemmis and Taggart. The research is conducted at MI IMAMI, located at Jl. Sultan Agung 23, Kepanjen, Malang. The research targets Class 2.1 and focuses on the Indonesian language subject, specifically the topic of question words. In an effort to improve students' learning outcomes, this study applies the Problem-Based Learning method as an intervention variable. To measure the impact of this intervention, data collection is carried out using tests, which will be implemented through written test instruments. The performance indicators used as a reference in this research are students' learning completion, which will be evaluated to determine how far the application of the Problem-Based Learning method contributes to improving students' academic achievement in the Indonesian language subject, specifically in the topic of question words. The steps of this research include: 1) planning, 2) implementation, 3) observation, and 4) reflection. The results of this study indicate that the application of the problem-based learning method can enhance students' learning outcomes.
