Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Project Based Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Rantai Makanan Pada Siswa Kelas V Pada Mata Pelajaran Ipas Materi Ekosistem Di MI Mambaul Ulum Banjarejo

Abstract

This study aims to address the low conceptual understanding of the food chain material and passive student participation (teacher-centered learning) in the IPAS (Science and Social Studies) subject in Class V at MI Mambaul Ulum Banjarejo. The traditional method of memorization resulted in student learning outcomes that had not yet reached the Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method to describe and enhance the conceptual understanding of the ecosystem topic, specifically the food chain, through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PJBL) model. The action research focused on developing a real project, which was the creation of a "Food Chain Diorama (Biorama Rantai Makanan)". Data was collected using tests (pre-test and post-test), observation sheets for student activities, and documentation. The research procedure followed the CAR cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The application of PJBL is expected to be a solution to increase active student engagement, foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, thereby improving students' conceptual understanding of the food chain in a meaningful and contextual way
