NILAI-NILAI PENDIDIKAN NASIONALISME DAN KEBANGSAAN DALAM HADITS MULTIKULTURAL

Abstrak

Indonesia, as a multicultural nation, faces significant challenges in fostering nationalism and national consciousness amidst its diverse ethnicities, religions, and cultures. Multicultural education plays a crucial role in instilling values of unity, tolerance, and patriotism to create social harmony. Within the context of a Muslim-majority population, nationalism can also be cultivated through Islamic teachings, particularly hadiths. The hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasize the importance of compassion, unity, and justice, which can be adapted to strengthen nationalism education in Indonesia.

This study employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach to explore the values of nationalism in hadiths. One analyzed hadith highlights that a person's faith is not complete until they love their brother as they love themselves. This value is relevant in fostering solidarity, tolerance, and social responsibility within a diverse society.

The findings reveal that the teachings of hadiths can serve as a moral foundation to integrate multicultural education with national values. Multicultural education that prioritizes religious and national values is expected to produce a generation that is tolerant, patriotic, and committed to preserving national unity. Thus, the hadiths emphasizing togetherness and love for one's homeland significantly contribute to building an Indonesian society that is harmonious, just, and compassionate amidst diversity.
