Based on the theory of Job Demand-Resources (JD-R), this study examines the effect of religiosity on work engagement and the moderating role of workload on the effect of religiosity on work engagement. The results of a survey of 64 employees at PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk Kandatel Jombang revealed that religiosity has a positive effect on work engagement. The research findings also illustrate the importance of distinguishing between demanding challenges and barriers in the context of work stress where workload influences the benefits of religiosity on work engagement. This study highlights the application of JD-R theory and expands the theoretical framework by examining the relationship between religiosity and work engagement. This study contributes to the work engagement literature by introducing religiosity as a personal resource that enhances work engagement and enhances well-being.
