This study aims to examine more deeply the behavior of Muslim consumers in using electronic money. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, where the primary data source is obtained through structured interviews collected from 17 Muslim consumers, consisting of 15 electronic money users at Indomaret Klaling and 2 employees at Indomaret Klaling. The research findings show that the use of electronic money by consumers is increasingly in demand because of the convenience and benefits so that the volume of electronic money transactions increases. Participants view the use of electronic money as a transaction tool following Islamic economic principles. Where the benefits provided are following the principle of maslahah, the principle of security following the principle of protecting property, and not using the usury system. From here, Muslim participants assume that electronic money, both conventional and with sharia services, is equal and balanced so that their interest in using electronic money with sharia services is minimal.
