Abstract

The increase in domestic waste and the absence of Temporary Waste Disposal Sites (TPS) in Dayurejo Village caused serious environmental issues, including the suboptimal management of livestock waste. This community service activity aimed to empower coffee farmers through the utilization of livestock waste and household organic waste into compost fertilizer. The training was held at the CMPK Cooperative in Dayurejo Village, involving 20 coffee farmers. The implementation method applied the Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach, encompassing pre-implementation, execution through material presentation and hands-on practice, as well as post-implementation via mentoring and evaluation. Evaluation was conducted participatorily by comparing pre-test and post-test scores. The results show a significant increase in the participants' motivation, knowledge, and attitudes regarding independent compost production and application. The highest increase is recorded in participants' confidence that organic fertilizer reduces synthetic fertilizer costs, as well as their willingness to support environmentally friendly solutions. In conclusion, this training successfully enhances coffee farmers' capacity in organic waste management. Regular mentoring remains necessary to monitor the compost's impact on coffee plant growth sustainably
