Abstract

Digital transformation in traditional livestock farming has become an important strategy for improving recording accuracy, management efficiency, animal health monitoring, and decision-making quality. This community service program aimed to implement the Smart Livestock Farming concept through a digital monitoring system based on Radio Frequency Identification-Internet of Things (RFID-IoT) at the small and medium enterprise (SME) "Sumber Barokah Farm" in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, Indonesia. The program was conducted through several stages, including socialization, needs identification, digital data management training, implementation of digital identification technology and monitoring dashboards, mentoring, evaluation, and program sustainability strengthening. The system implementation was supported by a test dataset consisting of 285 livestock with 855 monitoring records collected during June–August 2026. Operational results showed that all livestock had unique digital identities and complete individual records. The average body weight increased from 28.34 kg in June to 33.63 kg in August, representing an increase of 18.65%. The number of livestock with health-related problems decreased from 30 to 18 animals, equivalent to a 40% reduction. Among 100 productive female livestock, the proportion of animals categorized as pregnant or lactating increased from 64% to 74%, representing a relative improvement of 15.63%. A total of 168 out of 285 livestock (58.95%) achieved a body weight gain of at least 15%, with the highest achievement observed in young and fattening livestock groups. These findings indicate that the RFID-IoT system has the potential to serve as a data-driven management instrument that improves information traceability, supports health and productivity monitoring, and strengthens partner capacity toward more modern livestock management
