Dampak Pengembangan Alun-Alun Kota terhadap Kondisi Sosial dan Ekonomi Masyarakat Sekitarnya: Studi Kasus Kawasan Pinggiran Kota Curug, Indonesia

Abstrak

Studi ini meneliti transformasi sosial-ekonomi dan spasial yang dipicu oleh pembangunan Alun-alun Curug di Kabupaten Tangerang, Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang didukung oleh observasi lapangan, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen, penelitian ini menggambarkan bagaimana warga dan pekerja informal beradaptasi terhadap peluang ekonomi baru dan konfigurasi spasial yang berubah. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa alun-alun kota menghidupkan kembali aktivitas komersial lokal, mendorong mikro-kewirausahaan, dan memperkuat interaksi masyarakat dengan menyediakan pusat kegiatan budaya dan pertemuan sosial sehari-hari. Secara spasial, penataan ulang tersebut menghadirkan keteraturan formal pada area yang sebelumnya tidak teratur, meningkatkan aksesibilitas, keamanan publik, dan identitas kawasan. Namun, transformasi ini juga menimbulkan manfaat yang tidak merata. Beberapa pedagang lama menghadapi tekanan relokasi, kenaikan nilai lahan memunculkan tanda-tanda awal gentrifikasi, dan komersialisasi mengubah dinamika sosial tradisional.
