Peran Joint Attention dalam Kemampuan Bahasa Anak Autism Spectrum Disorder: Studi Literatur

Pada kondisi anak dengan Autism Spectrum Disorder, keterlambatan bicara bukan satu-satunya masalah komunikasi. Seringkali, komunikasi nonverbal, yang mencakup bahasa tubuh, kontak mata, ekspresi wajah, dan gerak tubuh akan menimbulkan masalah. Joint attention sangat penting untuk perkembangan anak, baik anak normal maupun anak dengan gangguan spektrum autisme, terutama dalam perkembangan bahasa dan komunikasi sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan, metode kualitatif dengan jenis literatur review (studi kepustakaan). Hasil penelitian terdahulu menemukan bahwa semakin rendah kemampuan join attention yang ditunjukkan oleh anak yang didiagnosis dengan gangguan spektrum autisme, maka akan semakin parah gejala gangguan sosial dan komunikasi. Anak dengan autism sepectrum disorder biasanya mengalami kesulitan dengan joint attention. Join attention adalah keterampilan untuk berbagi fokus atau perhatian pada objek atau peristiwa dengan orang lain. Gerakan seperti menunjuk, mengikuti pandangan atau vokalisasi orang lain, dan mengatur tatapan pada objek atau peristiwa tertentu adalah salah satu jenis perilaku sosial-komunikatif awal yang termasuk dalam keterampilan ini. Join attention sangat penting untuk pertumbuhan bahasa, komunikasi, dan kognitif anak-anak.
