Moderasi Regulasi Emosi pada Pengaruh Body Image terhadap Kecemasan Sosial

Kecemasan sosial merupakan hal yang wajar dan pasti dialami oleh semua individu namun berbeda dalam hal tingkatannya. Adapun penyebab individu merasa cemas secara lingkup sosial adalah penggambaran bentuk fisik atau body image yang negatif sehingga apabila kecemasan sosial yang dirasakan individu tidak segera direduksi atau diturunkan akan berdampak negatif pada interaksi interpersonalnya. Terlebih pada individu yang berusia dewasa awal yang secara tugas perkembangan dituntut untuk mampu dalam berinteraksi dengan individu lain secara optimal. Sehingga butuh faktor apa saja yang mampu mereduksi kecenderungan kecemasan sosial yang dialami individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji apakah dengan meregulasi emosi bisa menurunkan pengaruh body image terhadap kecenderungan kecemasan sosial pada individu khususnya usia dewasa awal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan desain kuantitatif yang menggunakan teknik sampling menggunakan teknik accidental sampling yang merupakan teknik penentuan sampel berdasarkan kebetulan, yaitu siapa saja yang secara kebetulan bertemu dengan peneliti dapat digunakan sebagai sampel. dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 265 subjek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa regulasi emosi tidak berperan menjadi variabel moderator pada pengaruh body image terhadap kecenderungan kecemasan sosial.
